Bank of America Finances Revitalization of Baltimore Port
Bank of America Merrill Lynch was the lead lender to convert an old steel mill site in Baltimore into Tradepoint Atlantic, a modern cargo hub that allows trains and ships to move goods worldwide while strengthening the surrounding community. Tradepoint is positioned to be the largest hub for East Coast commerce, creating over 17,000 jobs.
Well Fargo Supports Sustainable Housing in Baltimore
In 2019, Wells Fargo launched a $6 million NeighborhoodLIFT program in Baltimore, in partnership with NeighborWorks America, to support sustainable housing. Through the Wells Fargo NeighborhoodLIFT program, more than 22,000 homeowners have been created to date, and $475 million has been invested into launching new programs in support of sustainable housing.
Goldman Sachs Finances Community Revitalization in Baltimore
Goldman Sachs is financing one of the largest redevelopment projects in the country, transforming 177 acres once home to railway yards and coal dumps in South Baltimore into a large mixed-use development. The project will create approximately 80,000 new jobs, 14 million square feet of new, mixed-use buildings, and public infrastructure that includes 2.5 miles of restored waterfront and over 40 acres of public green space.
Wells Fargo’s Philanthropic Contributions in Maryland
In 2018, Wells Fargo donated $6.2 million through 234 grants to local nonprofits, schools and organizations to help the communities and people of Maryland. When combined with more than $471,000 donated by employees and $254,000 in education matching grants, nonprofits in the state received $6.9 million from Wells Fargo and its team members in 2018.
Morgan Stanley’s Philanthropic Contributions in Maryland
In 2018, Morgan Stanley and its foundation provided over $1.3 million in grants to 240 local Maryland nonprofits. Employees from Maryland branches volunteered and donated to local nonprofits, serving over 18,300 hours and raising $850,000 for 517 charities. These funds went to many recipients including Living Classrooms Foundation.
