Through its company-wide Citi Salutes initiative, Citi partners with local veteran service organizations to assist veterans and current service members in their communities. Citi collaborates annually with Central Ohio Stand Down at an event that supports local homeless veterans by providing food, shelter, clothing, and health screenings.

JPMorgan Invests in Students

JPMorgan in 2019 announced a $2.5 million grant to The Ohio State University to support diverse students. The money will support students who are engaged in diversity-based leadership, service and social justice activities as well as support youth in the Young Scholars Program, which includes first-generation college students with financial need.

Goldman Sachs Gives Community College Fund

Goldman Sachs Gives granted $3.5 million from 2009-2013 to help fund jobs and internship programs across American cities, including Cleveland. The job programs provide underserved youth with summer employment and educational opportunities that capitalize on their individual strengths, develop their skills and competencies, and provide them with resources and support focused on long-term professional growth.

Morgan Stanley’s Healthy Cities

Morgan Stanley’s Healthy Cities initiative delivers nutrition, health and play programs to families. Healthy Cities Cleveland launched in 2015 with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank and other local non-profits. Since then, the initiative has delivered over 440,000 meals; more than 900 health screenings; fitness and play programs for over 2,000 kids; and play spaces for 500 children.

JPMorgan’s New Skills for Youth Initiative

JPMorgan’s New Skills for Youth Summer Youth Employment Program is a $17 million, five-year commitment to U.S. cities working to increase the number of teens with access to quality summer work experiences that put them on a path to greater economic mobility. As part of the program, in 2017, JPMorgan provided a $150,000 grant to Cleveland’s Youth Opportunities Unlimited.

Citi Works to Reduce Unemployment in Ohio

In 2019, the Citi Foundation announced funding to help connect unemployed and underemployed people in Ohio to quality jobs. Lutheran Social Services of Northwestern Ohio and ProMedica were awarded $380,000 as well as access to technical assistance in support of creating equitable and inclusive training opportunities for residents in underserved communities. The organizations will use funding to offer education and job training services at Ohio Means Jobs Lucas County. Grant funds will also be used to help the hospital system offer State Tested Nursing Assistant courses.
