Bank of America Empowers Women Leaders in Puerto Rico

In 2019, Bank of America partnered with Vital Voices to bring women leaders from San Juan’s private sector and nonprofit community together for the Global Ambassadors Program, an initiative that connects leaders to mentoring and expertise. The program builds on the company’s support for Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria, which included directing $250,000 to assist the recovery.

Citi Helps Families Secure a Pathway to Home Ownership

Citi has invested in a community land trust (CLT) in an area hit hard by Hurricane Maria in 2017. The Caño Martin Peña CLT focuses on a densely populated area of San Juan that is home to a disproportionate number of low-income residents. Citi’s investment aims to help families secure a pathway to home ownership and long-term affordability. Citi has invested more than $1 million in housing assistance in Puerto Rico since 2016.

Citi Supports Communities Affected by Natural Disasters

Citi and the Citi Foundation supports disaster relief and recovery efforts across the globe. In 2018, Citi contributed $500,000 to four organizations in Puerto Rico to support communities hardest hit by Hurricane Maria. These funds supported housing counseling, repairs and other recovery services across the island.
